Hugo Schwyzer: Standing on the island of tenure: a response to Stephen Balch
Reading the linked article below, I am reminded of a quote. I cannot remember the source, which I am pretty sure was Frost, who said--and I paraphrase from memory: he is like a boy who has never known hunger.
The academic blogosphere is filled with grad students and the untenured who, wisely, choose to blog using clever pseudonyms.Schyzer argues that for every lazy tenured prof there are three valiant innovators speaking, writing and teaching to the edge.
Brave blog readers...could this be true?

I just changed my blog because it had my full name. It's sad that I felt I had to but it might affect me in the future. And I am sure there is still a trail with my name on it as far as what is online. Hopefully none of that will affect me. I just wanted to say hi and that I enjoyed reading.

I too fear that leaving a footprint in cyberspace would have all-too-real reprocussions.
Given various factors, I don't know if I would ever enter the acadmic profession full-time, but I would like to leave that option open.
Nice to meet you. I have blogrolled you.
